Missouri State picked up two more commitments yesterday.

Wesley Oba—a bouncy 6’8” forward from Delaware State. Not a big scorer, more of a defender, rim protector type guy. Depth piece. Originally from England.

Mozae Downing-Rivers—6’6” PG from juco national champ Barton CC. He is 6’6” and well built so good size for a ball handler. Averaged 10ppg a year ago, 6ppg this past year. A distributor first and foremost but seems like he can score when needed. Cousin of former Bear Anthony Downing. Seems like a typical Zo recruit—-plays tough and physical, strong body.

Still need to add some true scoring options in the portal, especially from the wing and post areas. But the roster is beginning to fill out more.

UNI gets commitment from Virginia transfer Leon Bond (6-6 210).

Redshirted and then played 8 minutes a game for Virginia this year. Averaged 5 pts and a couple boards and Tony Bennett raved about his defense.

Originally a Top 150 recruit out of Wisconsin. Will have 3 years and probably steps in and starts.

Valpo picks up 2 today

Louth-M Coulibaly (Center from Holy Cross) goes from a crusader to the team formerly known as crusaders

Jayden Watson expresses his commitment from the Bosco institute HS/Post Grad program.

Signings still to come according to coach Quinten (The Boom outlet).

I always thought he belonged in the MVC after seeing him some in HS. That said - he should be a very good MVC player. I was hoping Bradley would go after him but didn't for whatever reason.

Redbirds fill their "last" scholarship with 6'9, 230lb Caden Boser out of D2 Valdosta State. He spent two years at UMKC before spending the last two at VSU. He's known Redbird Sr. Guard Dalton Banks since he was 5 years old out of Eau Claire, Wis.

He seems to be more of a stretch 4. Pedon said he wanted shooters and that's what he got. Another guy hovering around 40% from 3.

We expect to one more scholarship player to enter the portal before tomorrow's deadline. The real last spot will need to be filled with a post player.

Pedon is going for it. His roster will have at least 7 guys in their final year of eligibility. It'll be a looong senior night. Complete rebuild after the 2024-25 season. I like the freshmen and sophomores for this season, but as we all know, the likeliness of keeping them together are slim.

Fair point. The Birds are returning 7. If Coach Jake can weather the storm after getting hit by the portal (for the first time, right?), I have hope it can happen elsewhere.

As expected, ILST's Luke Kasubke has entered the portal. He'll be a grad xfer with 1 year to play. Portal closes for under grads tonight and grads tomorrow.
