Coach Jim Crews, former Head Coach at UE and Army, will spend a year as an Assistant at Saint Louis University. SLU lost an Assistant Coach to the NBDL. Good luck Coach Crews.

Wow!!! They should have looked at his record in St Louis before they hired him. Something like 2-20.

Not a good hire by the Junior Billikens. He was a disaster at West Point. If he is the air to Majerus then SLU is in trouble. Maj is tough to work with too. I hope he wrecks there program, I hate the Bills.

Jim Crews is not the air [sic] to anything. He's only two or three years younger than Majerus.

Really?!?!? With just a couple weeks before games start, I think they could've done a lot worse than hiring a coach with 20+ years head coaching experience. Not to mention, his previous stint as an assistant was with Indiana in the early 80's (ya know, back when they were still good). Most likely this is a case of Crews helping out a friend that was in a bind, then he will probably move on back to enjoying his retirement in a year or two.

Coach Crews is now the acting Head Coach.

Rick Majerus is having health problems.

So when SLU and SIU play each other in November, we'll have Jim Crews who last coached in 2009 and Barry Hinson who last coached in 2008.

Too bad this isn't a regular season opener
