Casey you are always good for a laugh. Do you do birthday parties or maybe charity events? The stuff you spew on this board and the shockernet board as luskingforgutin is just really entertaining. Keep up the good work!

I read ORUfans this morning and here are some of their regarded posters quotes about the Bears:

"ANY road win is a GREAT WIN (but...man! Missouri State REALLY sucks!)."

"Maybe they should bring back Barry Hinson!"

"How far the mighty have fallen. They made Barry's life MISERABLE up there because he couldn't get them back to the Sweet Sixteen - or even to the tournament, I believe. "

"2 or 3 years ago Missouri State was rocking with Cuonzo Martin as head coach. Things have taken a turn since he left."

"For sure...I wonder if the Bears' faithful regret them getting rid of Barry....seems like they were always in contention for an NCAA bid when he was coach...now things have gone down the drain at Missouri State and they have that nice big 11,000 seat arena....gonna be tough to fill now but they still had 6400+ last night to watch them get pasted by ORU.....then again, what else is there to do in Springfield, Mo on a Saturday night?...."

"Geoff said on the broadcast that the actual "in the arena" attendance was closer to 4K. Probably fortunate for the Bears that they had so many no-shows."

"Even so, maybe things weren't as bad at they believed under Barry."

Stinks to read but it is the truth at the moment.

Barry has a chance at sweet revenge when SIU comes to MSU.

Casey I 'll give you props for admitting when you are wrong. Several on this board never do that but are quick to jump on others incorrect posts and predictations.

But where you get in trouble is your extremes. You often go from proclaiming MSU as the MVC equivalent to Duke to swinging to our being a perennial also ran. Neither is close to true (for men's hoops) . Get some perspective my friend.

And we wont beat WSU at home. Not this year.

I'm making a 4 day pilgrimage to Carbondale in February (doesn't that sound nice... Egypt in Feburary). Aces play at SIU on Wednesday, Bears play at SIU on Saturday. Only once would I be cheering for Barry. :Yea!:

CaseyGarrisonforPrez wrote:Hey pal. I admit when I am wrong. I have been wrong about numerous things, though I wills say that nobody will ever admit when I am right about something (Temple to Big East, ORU to Southland, and so forth). I was wrong about WSU. I thought your team lost a lot and was not overly impressed with the incoming kids. I thought you had a vagabond crew full of all sorts of transfers, JUCO kids, and high schoolers. Marshall has done a great job of meshing them together. You have every right to call me out on that one. I am accountable.

I can't come up with any statistical basis for it and the metrics will not bear this out at the moment but I still think we beat WSU in Springfield. Call it a hunch but at this point it would make our season.

I have seen you admit when you are wrong, specifically about the Bears and Shockers. You deserve credit for that!

Instead of blaming the MSU AD, maybe you should look at the alumni and their apparent lack of financial support for MSU athletics.

MSU's apparent budget for a basketball coach only allows for hiring assistants who are unproven as head coaches. I doubt MSU can even hire from the top tier of assistants. Sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't. MSU is 0 for 2 on their hires since they fired Barry. (3 years of riding Weems, and then bailing for more money isn't a hiring success).

It's like you sent Moats to the liquor store with a five dollar bill and then complained when he brought back Milwaukee's Best because you were expecting champagne.

Either winning a regular season crown is a big deal or it isn't. Make up your mind Shocker fan.

I am having a hard time getting my head around how abysmally bad MSU is right now. Wow...

I believe the fact he had to add in the qualifier after the initial statement shows that Aargh values the championship won. I took it as Aargh arguing that DESPITE the championship he didn't build anything lasting and left on the first train out, thus deeming the hire a failure.
