They are a mentally weak team and just not well coached. Their only chance of pulling out these 5 point slop fest victories is if WSU acts like they've never seen a zone before and shoots 20% in a half.

ISUr shot 20% in a half against you and won. 2-23 to start the game. Explain that? It's not like we had the game of our lives, in fact offensively it might have been the worst of the season in the first half. If you are so superior to us, then why wouldn't you be up 30-40 points in the first half given we shot 2-23?????

Delusional fan to be 5th in the pecking order...you ignore my and other ISUr fans posts that show truth and facts and instead focus on statements that you can attack like his "hanging around" the message board.

they have gone 2-2 against WSU. The margin of Shocker victory over the Birds is 8 @ Koch and 6 at RA. They have given the Shockers more trouble than any team in the Valley. The game @ WSU should be just as competitive as the past four.

How has that upgraded lenth and athleticism helped ISUr overall in the league? Bringing it two times a year versus Wichita is great--but there are 16 other league games.

It's got ISUr tied for 2nd at 8-4. So what's your point?

I think the general consensus is that ISUr has underachieved the last few seasons. Maybe ISUr fans disagree.

I've seen a few Redbird fan twitter accounts using the #BackToBack hash tag after Saturday's win. Just seems like its an odd thing to celebrate. Winning two games against a single team across 2 seasons. I mean, sure its a step in the right direction, but its not like you won the conference, or the conference tournament, or even made the NCAA tournament.

If you hadn't lost your 6'10" Center and the Freshman of the Year Point Guard, you would Top 20 Ranking and this last loss would have been a loss boosting the Shockers instead of hurting them. That should disappoint you in your program. You view second place, three games behind WSU as a gold metal instead of seeing your inadequacy. If you see it that way, you are sad instead of happy.

Completely agree with this. Its what really makes this whole thing sad. Too many Valley teams have their ceilings set at "beating Wichita". If they do that, their season is a success. They hang their hat on it. They have given up on making the NCAA tourney, they just want to beat Wichita. They circle the day at the beginning of the year and "super bowl" it. Beating Wichita SHOULD be a goal, but not the end goal. It should be a goal that is a stepping stone to making it to the NCAA tournament.

A team shot 27%, won by 3 and claims some level of superiority.

I am not sure either team should make any claim.

I am going to throw out the data point.

Agreed. Winning the league is the goal. Usually that means you beat a lot more teams than you don't during the season. Shouldn't matter if its Wichita, Bradley or SIU.

Guys this was not the topic of discussion here at all!!
We have ABSOLUTELY underachieved. There is no denying that, although the discussion up to this point was NOT how has ISUr done this season or last or within the last 18 years. But, again not the topic here. You guys are making that the topic with your Twitter mention and TribeCalledQuest talking about our record out of left field...

Put on your listening ears now:

The discussion was about WSU not wanting to play ISUr if they had to choose anyone in the Valley tourney and the facts are obvious. Throwing out standings, etc. we simply matchup the best with them over anyone else.

50-3 record in three years shows that when 2 of the losses were to ISUr
