And now we are comparing HCGM to Lowery... ROFL! No... ROFL!!!

Here is the appropriate reaction for a rational and secure person to the news that Gregg Marshall makes more money than any other coach in the 104 year history of the MVC and 8 times as much as some current coaches in the Valley:

"Wow!"

On another note; recruiting has been awesome and we are stacked like we haven't been stacked in decades. If HCGM keeps working hard as a Shocker, in a few short years his pay will reach nearly $2,000,000.00 due to his retention bonus and then it will be very hard for him to leave.

The sleeping giant is awakening...

It's a great day to be a Shocker!

Money doesn't fix everything but it sure helps. Reinventing the wheel everytime you have success really makes things difficult. UNI has been very lucky so far, but at the same time, that could change quickly. Missouri State lost Cuonzo at the first offer out of town. if a team could spend money to keep a good coach just a few years longer, it sure helps the long-term success of a team.

Have you read the quotes from the time frame with TAMU and Jake? Following their meeting there were some high profile TAMU "insiders" saying the job was Jake's if he wanted it. Kennedy didn't get an offer until Jake called TAMU and told them he didn't want the job....before TAMU called either him or Kennedy to offer. That is turning a job down.

That is also the only job Jacobson has actually interviewed for. Both he and AD Dannen are on record as saying that Jake has refused to talk to, as many as a bakers dozen, BCS schools - many of whom were willing to offer about a milli.

I'm sure you won't believe anything I've just said, and I'm okay with that. However, Jake has proven time and time again that he isn't going to leap at the first sign of money. He is very happy in the Cedar Valley and it is going to take a very big time offer to get him out of here. TAMU is set to be a top 15-20 team next season and should be a S16 team at the very least.

Probably. And that is perfectly fine with me. Little league football doesn't get my competitive juices flowing.

If InSU didn't have a football program, maybe they'd be more competitive in the other sports in which MVC teams compete at the highest level on a regular basis.

When InSu fans and alumni are tailgating, renewing friendships and generally enjoying a glorious Saturday afternoon/evening, what are Blue Jays doing……….sucking their thumbs and playing with themselves???

Sycamoredevildog, I appreciate your opinion but after all the comments you have made about MY comments and/or maturity on here I would like to point out that this really wasn't the best "pissing match" to get into.
Personal opinion, the only numbers that matter to me are wins and losses, coaches will get paid according to what schools can afford and who many Ws the coach gets.

Curious, what number did the recent football losing streak reach in Terre Haute?

I can't remember the number off the top of my head but the Trees are markedly improved winning 6 games last year.

I'd say we are sitting around at a pub laughing that anybody gives a crap about FCS football.

By the way, considering how piss poor the Indy St football program was recently, I'd question how many ISU fans and alumni are really tailgating. How many people even go to InSU FB games? Is it like basketball games prior to this year when nobody showed up?

EDIT - found the link: FCS attendance. You averaged an abysmal 5478 people per game - doesn't sound like there are very many "tailgating, renewing friendships and generally enjoying a glorious Saturday afternoon/evening." Plus, you only had six home games, so it isn't like this grand get together happens much Maybe in Terre Haute 5400 is a big number, but in the rest of the football world it sucks. We get triple that for basketball games at Creighton and our baseball attendance is even better since moving to our new park! Yeah, it doesn't really sound like we are missing out on much....

Uhhhh our stadium only seats 10000 and considering coming into last season we had only won 1 game in the previous season I would say we are doing much better...remember terre haute is a town of 60,250, that's a substantial part of that community...If you wanna play the high chin I am sure that will make you feel better about yourself but I will take my division 1 football team and run with it because we have a good product that we put out on the field.
May I say that I really don't like what Sycamoredevildog said either...I tend not to like people who call people out for things and then are doing the same thing smh.

This has gone completely off topic. I am going to lock the thread now.
