Pac 12 Blasphemy

guys it's almoat time for selection Sunday and i want to know what people on herr think of the Braxketologists picking THREE teams from the Pac 12? That, to me, is pure blasphemy . but they've been pumping up the pac 12 all year. I thinknI read somewhere that no Pac 12 team has more than ONE top 50 RPI win.

so, if our local bracketologists have some sort of explanation please enlightenbme why the Pac 12 is being projected with 3 lousy teams in the dance?

I read a stat about mid-season.....Out of conference, the Pac 12 is something like 1-31 against the top 50.

Personally, I really don't like the fact that they would have 3 teams in. Everyone's RPI is over inflated and here is how I would view it if I were a committee member. Basically they had their chance to prove themselves and they blew it. The tournament is going to be full of top 50 RPI teams. I would only give them their autobid and give the at large bids to teams who have actually shown they can win against the best teams (top 50) in the nation. Yes the bubble is weak this year, but I also have a feeling when we start seeing some conference tournament upsets, the Pac 12 will be the first teams out of the tourney since they have no ground to stand on.

They'll get 3 because the MWC, WCC, and A10 are going to get 3. The old saying "teams get bids, not conferences" is bogus. You saw it in 2005 with MO State and you'll see it again this year.

Watching Colorado and Cal over the weekend.....They'd be lucky, REALLY lucky to stay out of that 5 way tie in the Valley.

The Pac12 is 10th in conference RPI...and it's not really close between them and CUSA at 9

35, 51, 54, 68, 84, 82, 131, 146, 178, 237, 250, 274

For "power 6" conference teams to have RPI's that low is nearly unheard of. I believe I heard it's been about 6 years since any "power 6" team had an RPI that low....

Cal has the best RPI of the league and probably the best chance at an at-large bid. Their best nonconference wins? WEBER STATE and DENVER. The best win of the conference? Colorado State (and that was by Stanford who just lost to 5-22 UTAH). They haven't beaten any ranked teams this year. It's a total joke. If you changed PAC-12 to MAC, they would definitely be a one bid league. I would be shocked though if they didn't atleast get 2 or probably 3 because of their conference name.

One of the problems is that the bubble is so fricking weak this year. If certain teams with the 9-9 record in our conference could have just won three league games, they might be on the bubble too...

If my team was going to dance I would not want to see Altman's team nor Arizona. Cal isn't especially athletic but they are still a tough out. The bubble is weak so they will probably get 2-3 and we can debate the merits of that, but don't think that just because they have all had marginal years that they will be easy to defeat in the tournament. I feel a Pac-12 team in the Sweet 16.
