MVC Tourney Championship - Illinois St vs Creighton

Decided yesterday to make the drive in for the game today. CU is tough but I really feel like we can repeat what the Trees did last year. Go Redbirds!!

Illinois State really looked good yesterday and played like a championship team. Creighton can go on scoring rampages as we have all seen. Maybe it all comes down to desire, best physical condition and contribution off the bench.

Will be fun to watch.

Some great matchups in this one. Jackie Carmichael is playing great but he'll be going against Echenique. Will Carmichael guard Doug? Nic Moore and Young is another good one.

It's kind of a win/win for the Valley. If Ill state wins we get 3 in. If CU wins they'll possibly move up in the top 25 ratings and possibly get a better seed in the ncaa's. Getting 3 in is probably the best scenario for us overall though.

Getting ready to head over to Scottrade. This should be an interesting game. Redbirds playing for everything and I'm sure the Valley would love to see a third team go dancing. There was a good article written by Gary Parrish stating that every team in college basketball will be cheering for Creighton to avoid the Valley getting three in. No doubt the Valley as a whole will be rooting for Illinois St.

I admit that I have loved watching IlSU play all year. From the almost win against Illinois in the preseason tourney through the game yesterday, I think they are fun to watch.

The battle in the paint today should be great. The two best front courts in the league with big, strong players that like to get physical.

Interesting side note to today's game: Greg McDermott is attempting to become the first person to win the tourney coaching two different teams.

I'm a huge Redbird fan today. The Valley getting 3 will be awesome. A 7, a 6, and a 13/14 will be pretty legit. So come on Redbirds, apologize for your win yesterday with another win today.

If Illinois State wins today they will get to be a Top 100 RPI team, giving Creighton and Wichita State 2 more RPI Top 100 wins!
