CIT - Robert Morris at Indiana State - Tuesday 3/13

Sycamores hosting the Colonials in the first round of the CIT on Tuesday. I haven't seen a bracket, so I'm not sure who would be up next for Indiana State if they win.

Could be wrong, but I don't think the CIT has a bracket. I think they re-determine matchups each individual round.

Yep...leads to some odd match ups, and very tough to follow the tournament.

I've not seen a listing of participating teams either.

The CIT has all 24 teams play the first round then gives 4 "byes" for the next round who will host the round of 8. The semi-finals are also set up with the top two teams hosting. If the road teams end up winning it gets into quite a shuffle.

The following schools have announced their acceptance:

Kent State (MAC) playing SC Upstate (AtlSun)
Yale (Ivy) playing Fairfield (MAAC)
Robert Morris (NE) playing Indiana State (MVC)
Tennessee State (OVC) playing Mercer (AtlSun)
Tennessee Tech (OVC) playing Georgia State (CAA)
Manhattan (MAAC) playing Albany (AmEast)
North Dakota (Great West auto-bid)
Old Dominion (CAA)
Rice (C-USA) possible match with LA-Laf
Oakland (Summit)
Coastal Carolina (Big South)
Louisiana-Lafayette (Sun Belt) possible match with Rice

That makes 18 of the 24 slots. Coach Jacobson said on his call-in show this week that they were holding a slot open for UNI if we are not selected for the NIT.

Are the BCS schools declining CIT & CBI invites?

I don't believe the CIT takes BCS teams

Haven't seen a list for the CBI to know if they are or aren't for that one...

after surfing a bit today, appears most power conferences have an unofficial directive to decline CIT and CBI bids. NCAA, NIT or stay home.
