He must have won a couple of NCAA games at Wichita State since this thread was last discussed huh? Oh he didn't? Why bump the damn topic then? You're still overpaying.

Gregg Marshall has put together the most talented (and loaded) Shocker roster I have seen since Ronald Reagan was president. Big time coaches are paid based on market value. Market value is determined based on what other programs are willing to pay. Gregg Marshall is in charge of the highest revenue and most profitable program in the entire MVC. It makes sense that he is paid accordingly. In fact, HCGM's program earns more than the bottom six or seven MVC programs combined. He personally earns more than the bottom six MVC basketball coaches combined as well.

If Gregg continues the recruiting trend he has been on since he arrived here, he will be making $2,000,000.00 by 2014. Eventually he is going to land the lunker, the legit blue-chipper that can impose his will every night, and then the sky will be the limit.

Don't post in my thread unless you are going to stay on topic. The topic is, "Gregg Marshall made $1,482,000.00 this year." Feel free to discuss why he is or isn't worth that paycheck.

P.S.

I have reported your post to the moderators.

He probably is worth it considering how many juco/transfer/nonqualifying freshman/who's on the roster today players/ he has recruited. :D

For as much as WSU fans rave about the incoming recruiting class, I'm surprised there aren't more discussing all of the misses in Marshall's last few classes. Seems like there should be more beef in the senior, and to a lesser extent, junior classes.

Sounds like WSU recruit Henry Uwadiae is headed to JUCO.--http://www.kansas.com/2012/07/24/2419505/wsu-basketball-recruit-headed.html

Doesn't sound too likely that Hawkins will be on campus this year either.

Henry is a project. African players are hard to qualify (see: Orukpe). He was sent to a Juco that is "friendly" to the university. We will still get 2 to 3 years out of him depending on if he redshirts.

Teddy is in close contact with the coaching staff and is trying desperately to get here. His academic shortcomings are not HCGM's fault.

All this being said, I don't know how we could fit one more player on our team... we are loaded to a point that is mind boggling. If Teddy makes it, he will most likely be paying his own way. Can you imagine a "walk-on" that would start for every other team in the Valley? That's the kind of "problem" we are suffering from. Somebody needs to take away coach's keys to the Learjet for a while, we simply have no more room...

It's a great day to be a Shocker!
