Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2012-13 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9.

I took ISU in 10th and have Drake 9th. Play good D on Simons and no one else will score.

Van Deest is back and was a pretty effective scorer before his injury.

Losing Rice will most certainly allow defenses to key more on Simons. He benefited from a lot of single coverage simply because teams were afraid of Rice's ability to take it to the rack.

I didn't think he was going to be 100% when the season starts. Maybe I'm wrong.

Van Deest is cleared 100% for full contact as of September 1. He is now 6'11", 270 pounds....going to be tough for opposing centers to push him out of the lane like they did when he was a 195 pound freshman.

I hope teams focus all their defensive efforts on Simons. That means single coverage for Van Deest and a lot of driving lanes for Richard Carter.

I believe Drake will have a good year with the addition of VanDeest and the JUCO PG.
