I'm not sure why IlSU should get more credit for using an antiquated system.

There is a reason it is called a "sellout" not a "Butts-in-seats-out".

Maybe they still have volunteer ushers count them manually. :D

I'll bet our attendance growth this year will exceed any other MVC school. High expectations and lots of excitement here. :Yea!:

This is what I was told:

The way it has always been done. I agree with it because there is nothing more embarrassing than to announce 7,000 people and 4,000 are at the game. That is when you get into journalists adding “an announced crowd” of x,xxx in the stories, like what the PT and Extreme go through. I’d rather call a spade a spade and move on.

I personally think saying 4,000 people are at the game is more embarrassing than saying 7,000 are at the game but I don't work for an athletic department.
