Dorrian Williams was picked as the best frosh coming into the league last year, after a full season in practice I think he will be the early front runner as he will play a lot of minutes.

For the Aces I would say Guard D.J. Balentine or if he becomes eligible Egidijus Mockevicius
Can't wait for the season to start!

Is Williams the projected starter at PG now that the JUCO kid left?

http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports. ... 13-season/

For what it is worth, two MVC freshmen were listed by NBC as freshmen to watch.

I believe he was always the projected starter by many.

Among those who saw both Williams and Tevin play this preseason - the consensus seemed to be that Williams was the better player and that he might very well start from day 1.

I agree with agrinut and think Dorrian will be good but I like Thurman as the Bears best chance for FOY or NOY. This kid can flat out score. And we'll be hurting for point production this year.

No idea if Williams can play or not, but RS freshman almost never get a mention on those lists. Minutes are certainly available though.

Scored to the tune of 12.3 ppg as a senior...now I know he played along side McDonalds AA Perry Ellis, but Evan Wessel played with Perry and was able to squeak out 12.4 ppg.

Is that a negative? It was a state championship team with several pretty good players. Did you see heights play last year? My understanding was that Gavin was a versatile scorer. He just deferred most of the time to Ellis. That doesn't mean he won't develop into a star in the mvc. I have seen him play and was impressed. And I'd say the same if he was a Shocker or a member of any other mvc team.

I was being honrey. He is a gifted athlete and scored a lot of points as a sophomore and junior when he played on a different team. I just knew that he had a big ppg fall off as a senior.
