Colt had 33 in 73-55 win over Southern Indiana. USI had no answer for Colt who also had 9 rebounds to miss a double-double by one rebound. If the Aces can get some help in the paint they will be tough to beat.

Who will be the 4 and 5 for Evansville? Despite having several guys in the 6-7 to 6-8 range, they are skinny or have not been effective in the past. The Aces will be small again this year, but will they be improved? Could be all the difference between third and seventh.

Game tweets as it happen

http://www.courierpressblogs.com/sports/ue/?cat=3

who'll play the 4 and 5 will be several

Ryan Sawvell F/C 6-8 200 So.
Lewis Jones G/F 6-3 205 Sr.
Jaylon Moore F/C 6-7 230 So.
Jordan Jahr G/F 6-6 205 R-So.
Rokas Cesnulevicius F/C 6-8 215 So.
David Howard F 6-8 225 Fr.
Egidijus Mockevicius C 6-10 225 Fr.

Any of the sophmore or freshman can be rotate into either position As the season progress I think Sawvell will be at the 4 and Mocke, Moore and Howard will split the time at the 5

Sounds like it was the Colt show. The score doesn't matter as much as developing does in these games. Having colt carry your team to victory isn't how I would imagine the aces saw yesterday going.

If your offense prime design is developed @ a player or two then I 'm not surprised when most the points come from that player. I am please that Jaylon Moore, soph 5 player came and brought additional points. Had he not had a few easy shots row out the score would have been 83-55.doesn't surprise anyone in Evansville that Colt got his 32 points, including USI. Only 4 players did not play last night,1scholarship,possible redshirt, and 3 walk-on.

Jays played a closed door scrimmage against Iowa at Carver today and apparently won by 8-10 points. Unfortunately, no official stats were kept. Still awaiting some details..

Pretty cool when Andy Katz is reporting on your closed scrimmages.

1. From the world of secret scrimmages over the weekend (a ridiculous NCAA rule prevents teams from talking about them even though teams travel like its a road game or two teams meet in a neutral location): Iowa and Creighton scrimmaged to a tight game. Technically, Creighton won the game (but the schools aren't supposed to keep track of scores). A source said Creighton looked very strong with a variety of offensive options, not just preseason player of the year candidate Doug McDermott. Iowa, a sleeper in the Big Ten, played well, but remains inexperienced with freshmen and sophomores in key spots.

Very cool. We don't even know if we won or lost or how we played other than an anonymous post that stated an anonymous player from South Dakota tweeted that they won.
