Always here; just observing and marking time. Bears are where most of us thought they would be at this point . Not a Lusk fan, but despite that, I think he has us well positioned heading into next year. Loss of Marcus took us out of perhaps even being a bit higher than expected, but injuries are often a part of the picture. I really like our young guys and if Lusk can just grow a bit out of his ultra conservative nature, I think we will be in the hunt this time next year.

in their careers to this point Baker and VanVleet are 46-3 (93.9%) when both of them play in a game. Those 3 losses were Tennessee (@ Tennessee), Crieghton (neutral), and National Champion Louisville (neutral). In the games where Baker was injured last season and only VanVleet played, the Shox were 15-6 (71.4%).

Congrats, Fred on being voted Player of the Year.

Congrats also to Ron Baker for making the 1st Team.

They are truly one of the finest back court combo's in the nation.

50 best players in college basketball for '14-'15.

Baker at #14. VanVleet at #15.

BTW, I really like the first page of this thread. It was posted a long time ago, but it's worth a re-read.

Uhh, short 4 years. I 'll probably end up buying a case or two, but I also think the next two years will be very good ones for Thurman and Marshall[ if healthy]. For whatever reasons Gavin just can't stay out of Lusk's dog house for any period long enough to get some consistency on the court. He's a quiet kid, doesn't cause problems, but Lusk has wanted him to be more of a rebounder/defender and his strength and conditioning have not been what Lusk demanded. He is having an excellent summer working with our new weight training coach and also graduate assistant Keith Pickens has taken Gavin under his wing. I think many Bear fans who watch Gavin consistently will tell you he is more offensively skilled than Weems, but this is a make or break year for him because Robin Thompson is gonna command playing time sooner than later, but might be a RS this year. As far as Marcus, still a top level guard in this league; should have a big year if healthy.

This was the knock on Gavin when he was in high school. Hopefully he increases the effort, because the talent is there.
