Post #1 in this thread. Pretty prophetic.

Aargh wrote:I just thought I'd mention those two Fr to start MVCFans being tired of hearing those names for the next 4 years.

You may doubt my words this year. VanVleet is playing behind Armstead and Baker is playing behind Williams.

If there has ever been a better pair of Fr guards in the Valley it would go back to the days of SIU's glory and Brooks and Tatum and some of their teammates.

Neither one of those guys may make the all-Fr team because, unlike other MVC teams, WSU has no immediate need to play outstanding Fr., but by the time Baker and VanVleet graduate, you will be totally tired of hearing their names.

And the second post in this thread...

I like beer. I love beer when someone else buys it after losing a bet.

He should have said

the names Thurman and Marshall will have caused MSU much more angst

I couldn't believe Thurman last night. Talk about being unengaged. Wow - glad MSU got him.

Give the boy a break. He is absolutely correct. Thurman & Marshall together have done much more damage then Baker and Van Fleet...but Baker and VanVleet are a totally different discussion.

Congrats to Ron Baker surpassing the 1,000-point mark and to Fred VanVleet for registering a triple-double in the same game.

Both are juniors.
