Illinois State at Drexel - 6pm

Big game on Thursday. Here is my quick preview:

November 15
Illinois St at Drexel – (NBC Sports Network)
In a departure from the scheduling philosophy espoused by former head coach Tim Jankovich, the Redbirds are challenging themselves with an early season road test against CAA favorite Drexel. This is a significant game for Illinois State as it presents an opportunity to gain a victory against a team which will likely vie for an NCAA berth in March. Certainly, Coach Bruiser Flint knows how important this game will be also as the Dragons finished last season with a 27-6, but were snubbed by the selection committee after losing to VCU in the CAA finals 59-56. If the Redbirds can sneak out of Philadelphia with a win, it will be the best pre-conference win for Illinois State in years and set them up nicely for the rest of their schedule.

Drexel was getting a lot of preseason hype as a mid major that could go on a run and was the preseason fav in the CAA. Unfortunately, they already dropped a game to Kent St....

This is a game we need IlSU to win. Drexel plays in a tiny barn (Creighton had them in the bracketbusters once) and it can be a little intimidating, but IlSU should be tough enough.

Considering that Drexel may be a bubble team if they don't get the CAA's autobid, this could be a resume building scalp.

Bradley only lost by 5 last year at Drexel and had a chance to win in the final minute. They didn't look that good.

Illinois St is chucking right now. Guard dribbles doen the court and just chucks it up on 3 straight possessions. Not even a single pass...
