Nice early wins against teams you are supposed to beat! Keep it rolling.

North Dakota was not a good basketball team. We did play better today though than on Wednesday. Deon Mitchell could very well the the POY in this conference by the time he is a senior. Jake Koch played well today with 16 and 8.

Problem is competition really really steps up on Thanksgiving. Either way we won a game we should have won and by the margin we should win it by.

Hope you guys are ready; that tourney is one of the most loaded I've seen.

Indeed! A strong showing would propel UNI from bubble to single digit seed in the tourney projections.

Really there aren't too many breaks from here until conference play. Then we open up @ Wichita, home with Indy, and @ IlSU. Woof. And we haven't handled the conference real well these last two years. Tough road ahead, hope the guys have some success because if not this could get ugly

In the next month UNI will either look like a top 20-25 team or a team with no shot of a post season unless there is a conference title (regular or post season) hidden in us some how.

we played a D-II team and only won by 13, not really encouraging.

@ Ball State Tuesday night will answer some questions.

Good effort by UNI, much better on the defensive end rotating help side and contesting shots.

Koch led the way with 16, Rank with 13 off the bench and Fr. Matt Bohannon put up 11
Tuttle with 9 boards, Koch with 8
Koch led with 4 assists, Mitchell with 3 but should have had 3 more with great passes leading to scoring chances that were missed-two by Tuttle on fast break lay-ups.

Through the first three games:
Mitchell leads in scoring with 17.7, while also dishing 14 assists to only 6 TOs
Tuttle is second on the team in both scoring and rebounding with 12 and 7
Koch is averaging nearly a double-double at 11.7 and 9.7 while also 3 APG, 2 SPG and 1 BPG
Bohannon has started off 6 of 14 from 3, while Sonnen is 6 of 17, Rank and Mitchell are both 4-8, Koch on the other hand has only attempted 6 of his 19 shots from deep while also going to the line a team high 18 times (he's playing more inside this year)

Competition jumps up in a major, major way next week as there are no easy games in the Bahamas. I have confidence we can play well against Louisville and if things break for us, we might pull it off. We need to get at least one down there as it should be good whatever we get, 2 would be a super trip and I am not really daring to dream about getting three.
