Shox still didn't shoot great (42% from the floor; 35% from three), but that may be the best they have shot from three so far this year. They did have 9 steals and 8 blocks though, which is really good. As usual, WSU won the rebounding battle, this time by 10.

The Iowa stats are crazy: 12-46 from the floor (a very poor 26%), with 8 of those 12 makes coming from behind the arc. Iowa only had four 2 point baskets. Inexplicably, considering the poor shooting from two, Iowa did shoot 53% from beyond the three point arc!

Crazy, crazy box score. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball ... 1211210276

My scouting report on WSU would be to clog up the paint, try not to give up offensive boards and make them shoot outside jumpers. WSU's strength, without a doubt, is its athleticism, which makes them good shot blockers, turnover creators, and tremendous rebounders.

Good analysis. Right now, team's can slow down Wichita St offensively by playing good interior defense and forcing outside shots. Realistically though, the opposing team needs to play so that Wichita State's defense doesn't make up the difference. That means capitalizing on outside shooting and free throws.

Should be really interesting to see Creighton versus Wichita State this year. Their strengths and weaknesses match up pretty well.

If you're interested in reading a thread titled, "Nice Game From Hawkeye Fan", here's the link.

http://shockernet.net/forum/showthread.php?14239-Nice-game-from-Hawkeye-fan

From the originator's earlier posts, he went to SN to talk smack after Iowa won. When that didn't work out too well, he tried to talk smack in a "Congratulations" thread. That didn't work out too well, either.

Iowa fans were convinced that their superior athletes would dominate inside. WSU blocked 8 shots, altered who knows how many more, and Iowa made 4 shots inside the 3-point line. That pretty much ended that discussion.

A DePaul fan couldn't believe that they let a mid-major out-rebound them, because BCS teams are taller, more athletic, and faster than mid-major teams.

BCS fans are quite entertaining.

Classicly ignorant comments from Iowa and DePaul fans. WSU simply out-BCS'd both of them.

Surprised that you despise big brother that much. At least they play you in all the major sports.

No $#!t! Move to Kansas and you will find a BCS school worth hating. They don't just "not play you" in Kansas, they also go after your university's attempt to expand degree programs through the board of regents. In Kansas, you experience a multi-pronged attack.

We get that as well....

Iowa got out of playing us every year by "Creating" the Big 4 event....which will fail and eventually the series will die completely.

I suspect Iowa will skip any tournament involving WSU in the future after two straight losses to WSU in holiday tourneys.
