Yeah, unfortunately, that was a bad loss in the sense that Northwestern will probably be a bubble team this year. I don't expect ISUR to beat Louisville but if they win the rest of their non-conference including bracketbusters, they are probably ok.

Yup. And I do not see this happening unless Jake found some sort of magic on that plane ride home from the Bahamas.

Illinois Atate and Northern Iowa both had good teams last year. They both returned almost everyone and are now senior dominated. I would set the over under for both teams at 10 conference wins.

We will see if Drake, Evansville, or Indiana State can join the hunt.

UNI's entire season rests on the month of December. We can only afford one or two losses, but both cannot be UNLV and WSU.

12/1- vs Milwaukee
12/4- vs Northern Colorado
12/8- @ George Mason
12/15- vs Iowa
12/19- @#18 UNLV
12/22- vs St. Mary's
12/30- @ WSU (who will probably be ranked)

Unfortunately, I think you might have to win 6 of those 7 games AND bracketbusters to have a legit shot. Losing to fellow bubble teams Stanford and Memphis hurts big time.

The preseason #4 pick in the MVC will not be ranked in a national big boy poll. Maybe in the mid-major poll.

I don't see a marquee non-con win left on Illinois State's schedule, unless they can somehow win at Louisville. The Northwestern game might be a deal breaker. Still a lot of season left, but the margin of error seems to have grown thin. That Drexel win isn't looking as solid as it once was.
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

At Dayton will be a marquee win (better than Northwestern on a neutral floor) if the Redbirds can pick it up. Western Michigan and Wyoming are good, but not statement games. If the Redbirds finish the non-con with only two losses (Northwestern and @ Louisville), then they will have positioned themselves well for an at large going into conference play.

Indiana State already has a win at Ball State. With a win against Ole Miss or Nevada at home, the Sycamores will be sitting pretty for conference play.
