The trick is for the top 4 teams to avoid losing to MSU, that will crater your RPI.

Simply playing MSU will crater your RPI! A loss costs the same whether it's against CU or MSU except you should beat MSU.

That is true, but the selection committee will count a loss to a 300+ RPI team as a very, very, very bad loss. CU, WSU, ISUr, or ISUb do NOT want to go there.

I just wish there was some way the league could change the schedule right now, so that CU, WSU, ISUr and ISUb wouldn't have to play Miss St this year. Because you are right, just playing Miss St is going kill everyone's RPI

creighton barring something catastrophic like injuries will get in, wichita will barely make it (i hope) although i bet they lose 6 conference games, illinois state is gonna be on the bubble (maybe they win in stl). ind state will have to win in st louis,
