Who gives that big a crap if the Jays leave The Valley? They draw fans, are a positive when it comes to mens's basketball. But since when did the Jays win an NCAA game??? They''ve made the tourney a number of times, but how long has it been since they won a Tournamemt game? Point being, Jays arent some kind of rarified, out-there, way-beyond everyone else team. The Shocks and Redbirds and Sycs are right there too.

Creighton won a game last year. It's winning two in a row in the Dance that seems to be the pie in the sky for Creighton.

Creighton leaving will hurt the Valley for the following reasons:

1) They draws fans. 6th in attendance last year in all of basketball. Not bad for a mid-major from a non-major market. A strong fan base means more $$ for all teams. Also, the MVC ranked 6th in average attendance for our conference tourney in St. Louis. Creighton draws a lot of fans. I was unfortunately in the Creighton section when they played ISUr last season in St. Louis and it was obnoxious. To not have that fan base would surely drop the average attendance and result in lower revenues.

2) Top 25 presence equates to national media attention. The talking heads for some reason love Creighton as the sweetheart mid-major. Aside from WSU, they aren't really talking about other MVC teams. That can mean more chances for television exposure, etc. Having nationally ranked teams in your conference is never a bad thing.
