Early could score 30 points against every other team in the conference (except Creighton) and not get PoY. Let's be completely honest: if he wants to have a chance, he outplays McDermott on January 19th and March 2nd.

Both games should be televised nationally, and he'll have his best chance to persuade people that he is the real deal. Scoring 39 against the Salukis is not enough; he needs to do the same against his competition. Not necessary to that extent, but at least enough to clearly win those match-ups (a tie probably would not be enough unless Wichita State won those games).

The Salukis and the rest of the MVC have just seen the beginning of Cleanthony's capabilities. The members of Shocker Nation have been bestowing the virtues of Cleanthony's game for months now but have been slow to catch on. It is difficult to appreciate the sheer athleticism of this year's version of the Wichita State Shockers until you see it in person. SoW and the rest of the feeble-minded BJ's will learn about Cleathony soon enough. It really is not a reach to predict that the archaic system run by SoW's dad and the obvious lack of athleticism and interest on defense will lead to a Shocker rout.

Early is very good but 39 points against a decent high school team really skews that average. When he scores 39 against the top teams in the conference we can start talking but doing anything against this SIU squad is really nothing that you need to brag about.
