Official 2013-14 MVCfans.com Prediction - 9th Place

Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2013-14 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9.

Looks like Drake is the popular pick for 9th. I really have a hard time predicting where the Bulldogs will finish. Only 3 players who played 2nd semester last season are still on the team (Carter, Ricks, Van Deest).

Three of the "new" guys have experience as starters at the D-1 level for 15+ games (Daniels, Madison and Hawley).

Lots of questions for the Bulldogs....

Will Van Deest be healthy? He hasn't been since his freshman season. He came into the school year healthier than he has since then.

Can Daddy Ugbede play more than 15 minutes without fouling out? If so, he can be a 7-8 rebound per game guy.

Can Aaron Hawley live up to his potential? He teased Drake fans for 3 seasons by looking like an all-conference player at times.....and appearing completely lost at others.

Can Chris Caird make the jump from juco ball to D1 without missing a beat? He's 6'6", he's strong, and he's a very good 3-point shooter. And, he's a couple of years older than most JC transfers.

Who will start at point guard? Bulldogs have 3 point guards, and each one has been a starter in their only year of D-1 ball.

I'd put Loyola at 6 right now. That's how bad it looks like SIU, ISUr, and Drake are set to be...possible E'ville as well.

I picked Drake. I see this as being a rebuilding year for the new staff.

Has to be Drake. They lost almost everything from a terrible team and have a coach that doesn't need to win for a few.
ISUR looks to be bad too and Loyola is traditionally bad in a lesser conference. Those 2 could fall below Drake but DU seems like the pick to me.
