Ted Friedman and Bennett will split the mins for backing up Tuttle. Ted was essentially our only backup 5 last year so I don't see the issue getting worse but yes, it is certainly the Panthers biggest weakness. Jacobson also won't be afraid to play a 4 guard lineup with Buss/Tuttle as the lone "big" when one of the others needs a rest. You could bet that if that type of lineup is necessary you'll also see Jesperson and Morgan on that floor to compensate for the height disparity since both of them are taller guards at 6'6 and 6'5 respectively.

Koch will probably get the most backup mins but we've yet to see him play against college competition so it's difficult to make any type of prediction on his playing time/effectiveness. I doubt he emerges as some super-sub in his freshmen season.

So then are you projecting an 8 man rotation of Washpun, Mitchell, Bohannon, Lohaus, Morgan, Jesperson, Buss, and Tuttle? Singleton, Koch, and Friedman play based on match-ups/foul trouble/injuries?

Singleton should play decent minutes this year, at least I would hope.

He has been very productive in the minutes he's played in his career. Sadly he is 2 inches to short to be a true post and doesn't shooter/dribble quite well enough to be a 3. I don't know that the staff knew what to do with him until it was too late. He was, by far, the most college ready body that's ever come into the program and they didn't know if they wanted him to be a wing or post.

He will likely see a decent amount of minutes at the 4 in a smaller line up as the dept the team has 1-3.

Friedman and Koch will back Tuttle up at the 5 and share those minutes.

I don't think anyone has said Koch is going to be anything other than a spot role player this season. Going forward there is every reason to believe he can/will grow into what his brothers were.

Most of the talk about him in this thread, prior to whomever it was going sarcastic douche, was about how he has progressed. No body has mentioned him in the context of even being NOY. It was said he needed the redshirt year to work on his body and then growing his game would be this year and next year.

The reality is he will probably be well into his rSo season before being anything more than a role/situational player. However, he has a very high ceiling...he just happens to have a starting floor than some.

High ceiling compared to who? Early? Baker? Or Adam Wing? The defintion of high ceiling has changed the past few years. I know the summer is the season of eternal optimism. For the Valley, I hope he IS really good.

His ceiling is higher than his brothers were. Is that NBA? Probably not. Is it pretty high, even by Valley standards? Well...one was a POY and the other is one of 2 players in conference history with 1,000 pts, 600 rbs, 100 3-pointers, 100 assists, 100 blocks and 100 steals.

However, like has been said, he is starting from a little lower floor than those two in terms of being college ready.

Can you please explain why his "ceiling is higher"?

That doesn't make sense to me. How does his ceiling rate as compared to other UNI players?

How about to Mr Cunningham at Bradley? Mr. Morris at WSU?

Just curious.

Why stop there when he could be the ONLY player in conference history with 1,000 pts, 600 rbs, 100 3-pointers, 300 flops, 100 assists, 100 blocks and 100 steals?!

I'm excited for Shaq Morris! I'm not sure what to expect, but guys with his size don't generally come with that type of explosiveness.

Cunningham should immediately possess elite athleticism. I'm expecting he will be first team All-MVC before he's done.

His skill set compared to the other two, combined with size. He is, from what I've heard, more athletic than the other two but more similar to Adam.

I don't know enough about the other players to compare them. I know enough about UNI players, and i know that I've been told from people who have been at practices the ceiling for him is higher thab his brothers if/when it all finally clicks together for him
