Which players will make the jump from not being on the first/second/HM team last year to first team All-MVC this year?

Here are last years returning winners:

First team
VanVleet
Baker
Balentine
Tuttle

Second team
Beane
Cotton

Honorable mention
Doyle
Knight
Mockevicius

Assuming all of the above are honored again next year, there are six open spots. I will take the following:

Gant
Smith
Thomas
Marshall
Buss
Carter

My list places 4 Shockers, 2 Aces, 2 Sycamores, 2 Ramblers, 2 Panthers, 1 Redbird, 1 Bear, 1 Saluki, and no Braves or Bulldogs.

Smith and Marshall are your best bets

If it were a UNI player I would guess Buss or Washpun. I really want to say Jesperson but I haven't seen him play 1 minute of ball in person so I can't really make assumptions.

Marshall on first team. Pre season and post in my opinion. Along with a few shockers

If he can make it through a majority of the season I don't think there is much doubt to that. I think he takes Earlys vacant spot with the rest of the team standing pat

There were 6 1st-teamers this year, so without Early the 1st Team is still already full.

I like Marshall, but I'm not sold on him as 1st-Team material. His defense and peripherals are not that good. Hopefully he can stay healthy this season and provide a better idea of what he's all about.

At the end of the year if MSU is in the Top 3 Marshall will be on the 1st team.
