Could you post last years predictions vs actual top to bottom?

2013-2014 MVC Standings
Predicted
    1. Wichita State
    2. Indiana State
    3. Northern Iowa

    4. Bradley
    5. Missouri State
    6. Evansville
    7. Loyola
    8. Illinois State
    9. Drake
    10. SIU

Actual
    1. WSU (18-0)
    2. ISUb (12-6)
    3. UNI (10-8)

    4. MSU (9-9)
    5. ISUr (9-9)
    6. SIU (9-9)
    7. Bradley (7-11)
    8. Drake (6-12)
    9. Evansville (6-12)
    10. Loyola (4-14)

Basically, everyone knew what was going to happen at the top, and were pretty clueless on the bottom. I personally overvalued Loyola compared to the league, and Bradley, while undervaluing ISUr. Apparently I believed in Geno a little too much. The fall of the Bradley program, and the erosion that has finally hit that fanbase is one of the reasons I fear this league may be toast. The league needs Bradley and WSU to be good. Those programs have proven they can generate money.

As a coach, in conference games (i.e. games he does not get to choose the opponent) Moser has a career record of 57-111 (.339). If you take out his 3 years in the Sun Belt, it falls to 32-92 (.258).

This is what keeps getting me, and why I know Loyola isn't serious about a turnaround.

Moser is not a good coach. Loyola will not be a good team as long as he's there. He's quickly proving himself as a two time loser in the Valley.

And in three seasons, he's yet to break .500 once. Whitesell was fired after a 16-15 season. Not to mention that Whitesell never finished 10th in conference play, while Moser's done it twice now.

Loyola's trajectory can't change until Moser's replaced. Not a guarantee it will after, but it's a guarantee it won't before.

Maybe the AD is waiting for his contract to run out?

There is no AD. :(

I don't know what's happening at Loyola but if either

1) Moser is being retained because of his coaching ability
- or -
2) Loyola can't afford his buyout

Then, both Loyola and the MVC are pretty much screwed.

I don't mean to pile on Loyola. But do they really not have an AD? If so why not? Supposedly they have a huge endowment so funds shouldn't be a problem. And upon entering the MVC they talked about a renewed commitment to athletics.... But no AD? It just doesn't make sense.

And people want to pile on schools who are wanting to leave.

AD left in May for the job at Penn. There's been a search going on since then, and it's down to a small group of finalists. My guess is they were waiting until after Labor Day to make an announcement.

A reminder here that Moser was signed to a 4 year extension before last season. I think that puts him under contract to 2018, so the buyout will be substantial.
