Loyola was selected as the 10th place finisher (results: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3828 )

Week 2 - Who will finish in 9th place during the 2014-15 MVC mens basketball season?

I was going to disagree, but then I looked to see what Drake loses from last year's team:
31 ppg to graduation
4 ppg to transfer

Virtually no depth or experience at the 4/5 positions. Should still have good guard play from Ricks and Caird, but it looks like another long winter in Des Moines...

Looking at pafan's numbers, it seems as if 9th would be the place for Drake. Though I'll put it out there to watch for Drake in the future, as I think they're picking up some solid recruits.

I think Indiana St is going to be terrible. That said, I'm just glad it's not us getting votes right here.

Indiana St will not be terrible. Take a few steps back well of course. But not terrible. On top of, Indiana state is playing one of the better non conference schedules compared to some of the others even though not everybody has their complete schedule done yet including ISU-b. Think they were looking 1 possibly 2 more games.

Indiana St minus Arop and Odum isn't very good.

But I'm thinking ISU is a 6-7 win team without Arop and Odum. Drake may be a 4 win team.

Gant and Smith are probably better than anyone Drake has returning.
