Jordan Caroline, SIU - The 6-7, 235 post is averaging 9 and 7 in 22 mpg. As a bruising forward, he is having the most early success and has cemented his role as a starter.

McKyle McIntosh, ISUr - At 6-7, 234, he will be a load for most Valley teams as he plays wing forward. He's averaging 6 and 3 in 17 mpg, but a low overall FG% disguises the true scoring threat he may yet become.

Rashard Kelly, WSU - 6-7, 232 and while still raw in his skill set (averaging 4 and 4), he's a ball getter. He leads the Shockers in offensive rebounds and FG% in just 15 mpg and has some ability on the wing.

Other freshman forwards worth mentioning are Josh Cunningham at BU (6-7, 216), Shaquille Morris at WSU (6-7, 261), and Teddy Hawkins at ISUr (6-8, 219). These guys should be fun to watch as they develop and battle for the next four years!
Usually Valley big men are projects or severely undersized. Even though 6-7 isn't huge, all these kids have some serious strength for freshman. I like seeing it and agree that it will be fun to watch if all of these guys stay for 4 years and continue to develop.

Jordan Caroline is certainly a bright spot in Carbondale, the most impressive freshman I have seen here in a long time. He is a strong rebounder, and strong in general. Has a pretty good pedigree in that regard, his father is Simeon Rice, who played linebacker in the NFL.

Josh Cunningham is limited offensively right now but he is a very good defender and averaging 11 rpg in two MVC contests.

I tried updating the stats and as soon as I got done the page reloaded and I lost everything. Very little change since last update, so I'm not going to update at this time. Shaq Morris of WSU is on the verge of re-entering the "other notables" section as he's averaging 7 and 3 in 14 minutes in MVC play…4 and 3 in 12 overall.

Scott from Indiana State was very impressive yesterday. Is he a redshirt freshman or true freshman?

Scott is a RS. There is some nice talent in the MVC freshman class this year. A couple of WSUs players are showing flashes of a high ceiling, but none of them are averaging over 12 mpg, thus they are all averaging about 4 ppg. Lohaus at UNI is in a similar situation. Meanwhile; Timmer, Scott, Caroline, Cunningham, McIntosh, and Hawkins are all producing as key players for their teams.
