Balentine should be 2nd team at best.

Tuttle would have to lay some serious eggs in the next week to not win PoY.

With the spread in the standings this year, I would take two WSU players, two UNI players and Mock on my first team.

Tuttle
Baker
VanVleet
Mock
UNI guard

Also, in a strange turn, if I was actually building a starting 5 out of Valley players, I'm not sure I could do much better than the above. That team would destroy people.

I probably have a WSU bias on my second team.

One Panther on the first two teams? Washpun?

Washpun - 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists off the bench. Where do you want to put him?

Traditional stat lines are not what this UNI team is about. He's a minimum 2nd teamer in my eyes.

At the end of the non-con season it was obvious that Wes Washpun was playing at an All-Valley level but now I'd go with Deon Mitchell. He has split time with Washpun and Lohaus but was been so much more efficient and consistent during MVC play than at anytime I can remember. Decision making and discipline has made huge leaps this year and I think Jake has "limited" him simply because Wes and Wyatt deserve mins too and have also been effective. Wes can just flip a switch and easily outplay Deon, but it's been much less consistent than it was earlier in the season. Deon deserves a lot of credit for the play of this team in addition to Tuttle

Record kind of sopranos for itself though. If you're building a 10 player MVC team would you really not want Wes, Deon or Jeremy Morgan for their offense and defense? Anthony Beane is a good player, so is Daishon Knight but I believe any of the former 3 (simply because of Jeremy's defense and athleticism) make their team better than the latter 2. Stats be damned, I'd bet Deon and Wes are pretty close to being top 5-7 guards if you look at the per 40 stats

Okay. Where do you put him? Who's your top 10?

If I was picking a 10 to win with this year, they would be:

Center - Mock/Lynch
PF - Tuttle/Carter
SF - Cotton/Thomas
SG - Baker/Balentine
PG - VanVleet/Sutherland

Deep bench: Washpun, Beane, Smith, Barnes, Brzoja

I only know one thing. If UNI wins the league there will be more than 1 player on 1st or 2nd team. Even if they finish 2nd by losing in Wichita next weekend there will still be more than 1 player on 1st or 2nd team. It is just going to happen. Whether you feel they deserve it because of stats or not it is just the way it will work.

I have as of yet not disagreed with this sentiment. Pick your team.

A very thoughtful top 10 from a thoughtful person. I agree with Wufan.
