Couldn't get the dates to work, playing Nebraska Omaha next Saturday in KC.

Former Shocker forward Jake White is at UNO this year. I wish him well.

Me too. I thought he was a pretty good player. Just not quite good enough to ever start for the Shox though.

I was surprised to see him go. I think he'll be an All-League candidate in that league. He just never quite got enough time on the floor for the Shox to settle in and let his natural basketball skills take over.

If I remember right he was between UNI and WSU out of HS.

Most UNI fans really would have liked to see him, and I still would like to know what he would have done at UNI.

Jokes about WSU scrubs being good enough to see PT at other MVC schools, I don't think White fit the WSU system but would have fit the UNI system quite well.

Jake had important, valuable minutes in the games WSU won to get to the F4. Was he the MVP? Of course not, but he mattered and played important minutes late in the year, in the Valley tourney and in the NCAA.

Jake is a very good player, remember he was a MCD AA. He'd probably be starting right now for WSU, at least in the beginning of the year (but it does look like Rashard Kelly is going to be a man early) but if you don't think he'd get minutes now you're crazy. Kid worked his ass off while he was here and never complained. Didn't go home for breaks and did everything demanded of him, and more. Not everyone can say that.

Jake just wanted the ball more than is typical in WSU's system. Can't blame him for that. I won't be surprised at all if he puts up monster numbers for UNO. I will be watching and enjoying every basket he makes and personally I'm thrilled he didn't choose UNI (or any other Valley school) out of the gate.

Jake was a Parade AA, not McDs AA.

Funny how the exact date that wouldn't work we are scrimmaging NE-Omaha at a neutral site 245 miles from St. Louis and SLU is travelling 283 miles to scrimmage at Memphis. Sounds like they dumped us for a chance to dance with a better looking girl.

Good for SLU, while NE-Omaha will end up mid to top tier of Summit Conference, the Bears need to set their sites higher.

Pros and cons, I think.

I don't think pros should be playing college basketball.

Neither should cons. Unless they're on work release, but even then, I'm not sure.

The Redbirds don't seem to mind.

A con playing basketball on work release would also be a pro. Fitting both categories, they should definitely be excluded.
