Never did I say SHOX, doesn't deserve being ranked 8th. Geez, I hope they get into the top 5 and stay there throughout the season.
I simply made the assumption that if UNI's attention towards the top25 was because they hadn't played anyone. Who then has SHOX played to be at #8?
Combined records of their opponents is 8-10. Not counting Newman.
Memphis was beaten by UNI victim SFA, earlier tonight at The FEDEX.
We all know, SHOX is why The VALLEY gets any recent attention nationally.
But, I think, in preseason....If a MVC team is getting props, on the national stage......We as VALLEY fans should praise that accomplishment and not try to find reasons to degrade it.

I don't care whether UNI deserves it or not. I'm just glad that the Valley is getting some recognition. We need more teams winning games and with decent schedules. Keep winning UNI.

Anybody wanting to rag on UNI for getting votes in the polls is nuts! If you want to rag on a team that is "just racking up a bunch of wins", rag on Central Michigan, who was undefeated until they ran into Bradley.

Getting bottom-dweller P5 schools on your schedule is genius. The poll voters will see the name, recognize the conference, and respect the win without going to the point of evaluating the win. Fans won't question it because it's a win against a "name" team.

I think UNI is about where they belong. I'm looking for IlSU to join in the "Others Receiving Votes" group next year, and possibly break into the top-25 the year after that.
