Yeah, that'll make a statement. 12/16 FG, 6/7 from 3, 8/8 FT

He was spectacular. A lot of those points were really tough shots against pretty stiff defense. Eastern tried several different defenders on him. There was no stopping him. Most points by a Bear since 1979.

Most of the rest of the Bears were underwhelming again though. We did have 2 starters out with injuries but still. We need more from the rest of the team.

Easterns post killed us in the 1st half but Kirk did shut him down late.

One bright spot besides Marshall is that Cam Boone looks like a solid PF/4. He rebounds well and can really mix it up inside. He and Kik together may give us a good post presence this year.

Nice tribute to the late great Charlie Spoonhour at halftime. His son coaches Eastern and spoke at the tribute.

Now we need him to stay healthy all season. He's had awful luck with the injury bug and hopefully it stops this season.
[Insert snappy comeback]

Yes. He supposedly had gotten out of Lusk's crosshairs and had his best summer and early fall and was looking to start. Has knee strain, probably not too serious , but extremely untimely. At least a few games out.
The Bear is the largest carnivore on the North American continent; beware the Bear!
