Redbirds fall to Utah State

Rough start for Dan Muller's pre-season MVC favorites. The MVC has been more than disappointing so far. Unreal.

Exhibit A on why a coach should probably talk his team up behind closed doors until they do something.

So much for the Valley being stronger.....

I did watch SIU v SLU though. SIU looked more talented than I expected. But I am more than nervous about the top half of the Valley outside WSU. Hopefully they pick up some good wins. Just not many chances.

USUALLY being the key word. Regardless I remember a time when the valley used to beat "pretty good" teams on a regular basis....I miss those days....

Gonna have to be able to handle "usually pretty good" at home if you want to compete for the league title, or an NCAA tourney berth.

Utah State was not picked to be very good in the WAC this year...10th I think. ISUr was picked first in the MVC by the coach that knows them best.

You mean MWC. I think they were picked next to last. Maybe San Jose St or something picked below them.

I know it is early, but it has been a less than stellar start for the Valley seeing how so many teams can't claim youth as a reason anymore.

9th in the Mountain West.

If they lost to a team predicted 10th in the WAC, Redbirds fans should be melting in anger.

This is where things are really disappointing to me. There's a lot of experience in this conference -- both players and coaches. Muller's the newest Valley coach with three years, isn't he?
