Grats on a great second half.

I think Cdizzle went into the locker room and told them to rebound and play D. Apparently they had forgotten because they did a heck of a better job at both in the 2nd half.

I do what I can. Gotta keep not blowing it until that VCU game! Also, maybe find like 3 ballhandlers that don't get flustered by that time also.

This will be the third time Deon has faced VCU. He has 29 points, 12 boards, 7 assists and 7 turnovers in the first two meetings with them.

Wes Washpun had 9 points, 5 boards, 3 assists and 3 turnovers last year

Morgan and Bohannon both played 20+ minutes against them last year

In the two games we have played them, UNI has had 35 turnovers, high for us, but not at the level that "Havoc" is used to turning teams over as it has only led to 8 fast break points for them.

Neutral site will help. A veteran UNI team on a neutral court should be able to keep any runs from exploding into a game-ender.

The important thing right now is to get to that game without any losses. Winning that game will start to get Top 25 consideration. It'll also help WSU from getting jumped, so I can't be mad about that.

For those worried that UNI is pretty much bringing back the same team from last year, the newcomers are certainly improvements on previous parts:

Paul Jesperson is taking the minutes Max Martino played and a little more from Bohannon and Morgan as well

Wyatt Lohaus is an upgrade over Matt Morrison and will play more as he gets comfortable and spell Deon and Wes at the point

Klint Carlson is a couple inches taller than Chip Rank and more willing to play inside

Bennett Koch is the 5th 'big' as opposed to Ted Friedman

The early returns look promising that the pieces are greater than last years' pieces, here's hoping Jake is able to mold them into being greater than the individual parts.

It's unfortunately not a neutral court. Don't know the reffing situation. We suffered out there 3 years ago thanks to Zelton Steed and Kipp Kissinger, last year with A-10 refs, we shot 28 free throws.

But I agree, this is a veteran squad that should not be terribly rattled.

I wouldn't be worried about WSU getting jumped soon, you guys are looking tough and I don't see Marshall permitting any letdowns (or Van Fleet, Baker or Cotton letting anyone off easy either).

Not sure why I thought that was a neutral game.

You're screwed. They get away with 4x as much as SIU did in the mid-2000s, just because "it's their thing."

Maybe? I think UNI is going to be good this season, but they simply don't get after it on D like WSU does. Not that UNI can't beat WSU, they could but not over the long haul. WSU is too athletic (and talented).
