Do you think the game was scheduled in Cedar Fall this season specifically so Marcus Paige could play close to his hometown?

That's exactly why.

It's why the played at Evansville a couple years ago.

Roy Williams tends to do things like this for his seniors

Cool beans. Hope UNI can pull it off next year.

Not sure UNC will have any athletics programs the last 2 years of the contract. :)

Hope that's true for UNI.
However, perhaps there was more to UNC playing The ACES.
Terre Haute is just as close to the Indiana community of Washington as Evansville is. I think it may be as close of a difference of 3-5 miles.
Coach Williams could have just as easily scheduled those games against TREES.

Doesn't change the fact that Marcus Page was a high school teammate of Matt Bohannon at Linn-Mar High in Marion, IA.

It is a 62 minute drive (traffic being normal) from Linn-Mar High to the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, IA. How do I know that so precisely? I live less than 1 mile from LMHS and drive directly past it on my way to Cedar Falls to basketball and football (UNIDome is connected to the McLeod Center) games.

It is 48 minute drive from Linn-Mar HS to Carver Hawkeye (34 miles closer it's only 14 minutes closer) - also a drive I've done

It's 2 hours, on the nose, to Hilton Coliseum in Ames - also a drive I've done

It's 2 hours 10 minutes to the Knapp Center - also a drive I've done

So it's play a B10 school that's the closest, but that's been played in the B10/ACC challenge.
Play a MVC school with zero connection to Marcus Page
Play a B12 school that will be a top 5 preseason team with no connection to Marcus Page
OR
Play a respected UNI team that's, essentially, just as close as Iowa City, with a very tight connection to Page with a high school teammate and AAU teammates on UNI's roster...

Bradley announced its non-conference schedule at a luncheon today. There will be no games at on-campus Renaissance Coliseum. Home games against the SEC (Ole Miss) and Big 12 (TCU). Including the Charleston tournament, could see as many as 7 games against 2015 tournament teams.

2015-16 Non-Conference Schedule
11/13 vs. Ball State (Nate Wells Night)

11/16 @ Arizona

11/19-22 Gildan Charleston Classic (Virginia, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Seton Hall, Long Beach State, George Mason, Towson)

11/25 New Orleans
11/28 Ole Miss

12/1 @ Delaware

12/5 North Dakota

12/8 @ Texas-Arlington

12/17 vs. Maryville

12/20 @ Boise State

12/23 vs. TCU

This seems like a good schedule for Bradley next year. Not murderer's row, but not terrible either. Should provide challenges and a few chances to build confidence and depth for a young and inexperienced team. Could you include the teams from the Charleston Classic?

Good call...I had intended to add them, and forgot. Ole Miss is also in the tourney...so I wonder if they got some sort of assurance they would be on opposite ends of the bracket to at least minimize the likelihood of meeting twice.

Yeah, it's an interesting mix for the Baby Braves. Gonna be a lot of hurt, that's for sure. But hopefully throwing them into the fire will pay big dividends down the road.

Colorado State/SFA/UNC is amazing home slate and it's all in one week. Going 2-1 would be a nice accomplishment. I could definitely see UNI entering conference play with a losing record, it might even be likely. Although that says way more about their schedule than their abilities.
