UNI All-Access

UNI is being featured in a 10 part documentary on the 2014-15 season on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

The series starts this Friday (Jan 2) and will premier a new episode each Friday at 4:30. Extra episodes could be added if postseason games are played.

It will include behind the scenes access to the team, the staff and Coach Jake's family.

This is a huge deal exposure-wise for both UNI and The Valley. The first episode focuses on Jake becoming the all-time wins leader and his family.

Very unlike anything UNI has ever done...

I'm excited to see it

Great exposure in a limited viewing area unfortunately.

I don't know how many people outside of Illinois will be able to watch it. I know I won't.

All of Illinois, a good chunk of Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri.

I think Kentucky gets it too, partially on the western side

I'm glad for UNI. Their winning has brought more attention to our league. In the Top 20, the target on your back will be more apparent.

Direct TV Channel 665 and DISH Channel 429 and 5429.

Subscribers for DTV and DISH total about 35MM. My guess is about 2/3 of those subscribers have a package carrying CSN. I have a middle of the road DTV package and I get CSN. Several other cable providers like Comcast and Mediacom also carry CSN.

Exposure won't be a problem. Interest maybe, but not availability.

And for those without access to Comcast, DirectTV, Dish, CFU, etc., the episodes will be streamed at unipanthers.com if you want to see it.

Some additional good exposure for the Panthers, a nice Fox Sports write up about Coach Jake.

That's a weak argument. If it was on ESPN people would watch it, whether they had interest in UNI or not. When it's on an obscure Dish channel, it doesn't matter who has access to it, because only people with interest in UNI will watch it. And those are the same people who would watch it on UNI's website.

Sounds good.

Wait until you see what kind of coverage WSU will be having this spring.
