Big game tonight in CF on ESPNU. I'm interested in seeing ISUb and determining for myself if they've actually improved by leaps and bounds since the non-con or if it's more of a result of favorable scheduling. Go Panthers!
[Insert snappy comeback]

They have improved a ton. Don't think that lends itself to a win @ UNI, but the team is much improved.

My guess is some of both. I think they will fall back to the pack a bit, but also that they are playing better ball than early on and that a 5-0 start will be enough to keep them on the upper end of that pack by the time the season ends.

I'm looking forward to seeing the #15 team in person tonight. I'd be happy if we can keep it within 10 but I don't expect it. Hopefully some Shocker fans are making the trip.

I think there is a large contingent. Would be much bigger if on a Saturday.

Haha, true. I was just meaning that the point where anyone could really say Simmons was able to truly go .500 against Marshall was Marshall's first three seasons in the league. Granted, Evansville swept an injury-plagued 2012/13 team as well.

And you're right ... like a lot of Valley teams, ultimately it does come down to getting what you paid for. Based on Evansville's financial commitment, Marty might be over-achieving.

I really doubt that the Aces get two players on the first team,

Van Vleet
Knight
Baker (Help I've Been Hit)
Balentine
Tuttle

The Aces getting two on the first team will be tough, but I like Balentine and Mock better than Knight. I like Beane and Doyle better too. If the Redbirds can finish in the top three that will greatly help Daishon (I hit girls) Knight's chances.

I laughed at the Baker jab and couldn't resist one of my own.

Isn't Mock averaging a double/double and shooting like 60%? Is so he should definitely be 1st team unless the Aces just totally tank.

Yep. I would take Mock everyday over Balentine, and twice on gamedays.
