12:05pm Loyola at Indiana State - no TV, can ISU bounce back after going 0 for Iowa? If they want a top 4 finish this is a must win, same for Loyola, who may or may not have Doyle

3pm SIU at Evansville - ESPN3 - SIU looking for 3 MVC wins in a row, UE hoping to stay in the top half of the MVC

7pm Missouri State @ Bradley - ESPN3 - 2 teams struggling, each desperate for a win

January 25th

1pm Drake @ WSU - ESPN3 - should be an easy win for WSU unless Drake hits a lot of 3's again

3pm UNI @ Illinois State - ESPNU - game of the weekend, can UNI win at Illinois State, will be a tough task for sure, Illinois State needing a win to stay in top half of MVC

So BTN's airing a "coaches talk" show tonight with Cuonzo, Dawkins, Turgeon, and Lavin. Actually pretty insightful. The topic of which coaches get the most out of their talent year-after-year comes up. Lavin offers up Bo Ryan, Turgeon offers up Self, and Dawkins offers up Leonard Hamilton and Dana Altman.

Who does Cuonzo offer up? In a stunning twist, "Marty Simmons of the Missouri Valley Conference".

Well, he did play against a far less talented Evansville when he was here. Maybe Simmons is just the kind of coach that can get a lot out of a certain kind of player, but not a lot out of better players, as he certainly isn't doing enough with two possible all conference first teamers.

Not the only strange pick either. Apparently Turgeon still has his eyes on KU. Self is not a great pick. They've underperformed with all their McD AA's of late.

Bo Ryan is a good pick. I might go with Larranaga. Out of the Valley, Marty would be near the bottom of my list.
