Very unlikely. Cotton will be the best perimeter shooter and/or player.

My guess would be that Cotton will either get Mitchell or Washpun duty for the majority of the game.

I would also guess UNI would have either Mitchell or Washpun on Van Vleet with Morgan on Baker, and then Bohannon or Jesperson or Lohaus on Cotton. That might hurt us though due to Cotton's athletic ability. If we have Mitchell, Washpun, and Morgan in the game at the same time then I think Mitchell gets VanVleet and Washpun gets Cotton.

Should be a great game!

I am really nervous because of how well WSU has been playing lately and how we have only really played one good half in each of the last like 5 games.

Not gonna happen. It's possible that Tuttle eats up the Shox post defenders, but even if he is, Cotton will not be the answer. Wessel would be much more likely.

You could ask the same question of who will guard Carter if he is having his way inside. Both teams have depth, but not necessarily trusted quality depth, in the post.

If Carter is playing well, Singleton will probably get him some. He gives up some height, but has much better upper body strength than Tuttle.

The may through Bennet Koch at Cotton for a spell, if nothing else for a change of pace and 5 fouls. That said, I wouldn't wager much on that plan unless we are playing zone.

I think you mean Carter. We still have Buss for length on defense as well, but that end of the floor is not his strong point. Athletically, Carlson would be an interesting match-up but he hasn't seen much floor time and doubt he'll get in this game unless there is foul trouble.

UNI's game plan will still likely be to pack the lane and make WSU beat us from outside. Cotton killed us last year in Cedar Falls with 4 treys. That would likely be Bohannon/Lohaus's guard duty this year, though we may also switch every screen on the outside as well.

Washpun/Mitchell-Van Vleet
Bohannon/Lohaus-Cotton
Morgan/Jesperson-Baker
Singleton/Buss-Wessel
Tuttle/Koch-Carter/5

Should be a fun chess match with lots of capable pieces.

Carter is correct. Switched with Cotton for whatever reason.

Both WSU and UNI appear to have defensive specialists at the 3 and 4. It will be interesting to see if one or both teams goes with an offensive threat at the 4 knowing they aren't going to get hurt too bad on the other end of the court. This is a game where the three 6-7 freshman forwards (Brown is a wing forward, Kelly a PF, and Morris a post forward) from WSU could get important minutes.

You are right the same could be said about Carter if he's healthy. I don't think anyone on the Shox frontcourt outside of Carter can handle Tuttle one on one. But the same is true of Carter. The on on one matchup between those two should be interesting.

UNI fans - will this be a sellout?
