1985?! Was that an Alfredrick Hughes team?

Yes. The guy had 2914 points in his college career and was drafted 9th by San Antonio. Loyola lost to #1 Georgetown in the Sweet Sixteen after having a two point lead at halftime. Every time I watch that game on tape I still think we're going to win.

Shoot Alfredrick Hughes

Who do the Ramblers get next?

This is a terrific example of a situation where this kind of tournament can have great value. LUC is young and they get to enjoy a nice postseason run, which is their first in some time, while continuing to get valuable experience playing together (especially with a quasi-healthy Doyle in the mix). It will only help for next season.

Go Ramblers and win the whole darn thing!

Next game (semifinal round) is Wednesday night at home vs. Seattle U.

Seattle came from behind last night at home to beat Colorado. One of our assistants has a family member who is the head coach at Chicago State, which is (weirdly) in the same conference as Seattle, so hopefully we get a good scouting report!

Also - I love that SI article about Alfredrick the Great.
