I think it has to do with more shoes, equipment, "better" uniforms at a better price...I.E. getting involved in the "next generation" of uniforms when they first come out...not getting them after they've been out for 2 or 3 years. More shoes, more shoe colors, etc...
Remember how big a deal it was when Nike sent UNI new purple shoes after breaking into the top 20? I think that is part of it going forward. Deal could be similar to what WSU has.
For example - the football programs uniforms that we got for the 2013 season I believe debuted in 2011 or 2012.
Football likely doesn't get new uniforms this season - just took team poster photos this week - and basketball goes on a 2 year rotation.
2016 is probably the first year to really "test" this uniform thing as football and basketball will both be in line for new uniforms. I wonder if this also means UNI is going to do the third uniform for basketball, or even football, more often. This years alternates for basketball were cheap because we had to pay for them. Getting a third sent with our standard uniforms would be part of it.
