I'm guessing the Alabama AD wanted to avoid the perception of making a hire analogous to when they hired Anthony Grant.

Marshall was a slam dunk. Prohm could be viewed like Grant at VCU. So they went a different route.

I agree and believe this is why Bradley's AD deserves bonus kudos for going with Wardle. Sometimes you get unlucky with a hire that looks great on paper (Geno, Scott Thompson for WSU in the 90s, etc.). That doesn't mean an AD should "think outside the box" for the next hire if another seemingly brilliant up and comer is available, regardless of similarities to the previous guy.

Not sure there is much surprise here, but both Baker and VanVleet will return for another shot at a run in 2015-2016.

WSU is locked and loaded. Should be a fun year.

BREAKING: per source, Iowa State contacted Gregg Marshall and is setting up an Interview with the Wichita State coach.

If I were Gregg, I'd let ISU fly me up, by me a meal at Hickory Park, and laugh in their faces.

Please - have some discernment. It clearly a troll at work yanking some chains. Why give this guy any attention. There is no way in hell Marahall is going to Iowa State. If anybody has anything to worry about it would be UNI.

Marshall is infinitely closer to a possibility at ISU than Jake if either is.

Talk about being late. The guy missed April fools day by two months.

No. Marshall didn't turn down the Alabama job just in hopes he might get a chance to move to Iowa. Jake already lives in Iowa. Just on that basis, Jake has a higher possibility.

3% is awfully generous.
