Loyola improved its RPI from 294 in 2013-14 to 87 in 2014-15, which was a 207 place improvement and third best year over year improvement in RPI. It was Porter Moser's best ever RPI as a coach, in his fourth year with Loyola after coaching at ISUr (2003-07) and UALR (2000-03). The interesting thing is that the other two best RPI improvements also came from former MVC coaches in their third or fourth year with another team.

UC Davis, under fourth year head coach Jim Les (Bradley 2002-11), improved from 323 to 71 (252 improvement) and got an automatic NIT bid for winning the Big West.

Central Michigan, under third year head coach Keno Davis (Drake 2007-08), went from 294 to 70 (224 improvement), winning the MAC regular season title and an auto bid to the NIT.
