While the recruitment is factual, it's still rumor and conjecture as to whether or not he will put on a Shocker uniform next year or ever.

Yep. Although I've seen enough that I'm taking it as a bit more than rumor and conjecture at this point.

Knowing we're recruiting someone doesn't get me excited. Knowing someone visited recently, a little. This has me very excited.

I'm taking it as fact that there is mutual interest. But even with the mutual interest, we don't know if he will be able to reclassify or not. I have no idea what the chances of that are. 60/40? 10/90? It seems like no one knows for sure. Then if he reclassifies, what are the chances that some blue blood swoops in and takes him right out from under us. Seems like there is still a long way to go, even if we are the odds-on favorite.

Are Shocker fans high on Nurger? I liked what he brought early last season. I thought he moved well.

I think Nurger needs another year of bulking up before he can be a true contributor. All the fundamentals are there, he just gets pushed around too much.

If the rumors come true about the other recruit, WSU will instantly be top 3-5 in the country

That'd be a big addition to an already loaded team. Championship contender

Papagiannis?

Papaginnis got some run too as the mystery recruit, as did Thon Maker, but Humphries has been as close to confirmed as one can get.

Humphries would be a real coup. And I know he's a four star recruit. But is his game developed enough that he could step in as an eighteen year old freshman and be a major contributor?

I believe so. I believe our staff thinks so also.

This box score might be of interest http://www.fiba.com/world/u17/2014/1608 ... statistics

Humphries went for 8 pts, 7 rebounds against some of the best recruits in the class of 2015 and 2016. Diamond Stone, who is expected to be a big contributor for possible #1 Maryland (holy crap that sounds ridiculous) went for 9 and 8. I don't want to get into averages too much because I'm assuming Team USA has a ton more weapons than Team Australia...but for curiosity's sake:

Averages throughout the tournament:
Humphries: 28 MPG, 19 PPG 12 RPG
#6 overall, #1 center 2015 Diamond Stone: 23 MPG, 13 PPG, 10 RPG
#2 overall, #1 forward 2016 Harry Giles, 20 MPG, 11 PPG, 6 RPG

This tournament took place in 2014 so people could have developed more than others since then.
