I agree he's better offensively. But not defensively.

Honestly I haven't seen enough of Church to say one way or the other. Despite their similarities in age and height, they are totally different players. While Church is a good post defender with shot blocking ability, strength and athleticism, McDuffie is long wing that can shut down SGs. Not: Markis successfully defended Beane and Balentine in consecutive games.

Who's better? No idea. They are both very good and very different.

It'd be interesting to see how good of a year McDuffie would have if he was on another team in the valley where he could be showcased more

True, he could be a bigger part of the offense on another team, but playing with FVV does have a way of making you look GOOD.

That's true. But it's also a huge benefit playing with the best PG in the country. Not taking anything away from him he's very very good.

I just noticed that 8 of 10 players in the poll received votes. The only two that didn't were McDuffie and Church.

And those 2 will probably be 1-2 when it's all said and done.

To be fair, I believe Shamet is still the best freshman in the league.

Still an interesting note. Those are clearly the top 2 in contention for the award.

Wow, this is an argument in and of itself (not to be had out here)....Kris Dunn might argue this statement a bit.
