UNI vs. North Carolina

Surprised to see that UNI is scheduled to play North Carolina on November 21 in Cedar Falls. It's certainly unusual to see a team from a Power 5 conference playing at an MVC venue. Hats off to Troy Dannen for pulling that off.

Welcome to 2015. This is a game close to Marcus Paige's hometown, something Roy Williams tries to do for his players.

It's a really cool opportunity for UNI, but what is unfortunate is that Paige is hurt and I'm not sure if he's even going to play.

Marcus Paige is highly unlikely to play which is unfortunate for him. It would have also been cool to see him match with Matt Bohannon who was his high school teammate and won a state title with him. (Matt was the tournament MVP

)

Huge step up for UNI and while I hope for a W, the scenarios to pull one off are pretty narrow with everything and absolutely, everything, having to go right.

We go to North Carolina twice in return for this home game so this is a game that will help our program into the future for scheduling as well.

2015. . 2014. . .2010 . . .2005 . . .It doesn't matter. Power 5 teams in MVC arenas are rare regardless of the year.

The point was that this isn't really surprising news any more. It's been on the docket and rehashed for months. Doesn't take away from the opportunity UNI has.
