Unfortunately, Van Vleet will be out for the entire Advocare tournament and Shamet is questionable for the Shockers. It could be a tough tournament for the Shocks with FVV out.

I don't know anything about USC basketball but I assume Shox should still win despite FVV's absence. What are the follow up games in that tournament?

I'm not going to claim they are world-beaters, but they are 3-0 with wins over Monmouth (beat UCLA) and New Mexico. With Fred out, Shamet likely out and Frankamp not yet eligible, the Shox start getting real thin at the 1-2 spots. We shall see. Definitely enough talent on this roster to win the game, but they need to start showing progress.

Next game is against #23 Xavier/Alabama. #17 Notre Dame/Monmouth and Iowa/Dayton are on the other side of the bracket.

Latest says Shamet is out 6 to 8 weeks. So it could be a rough few weeks for WSU. Hitting the toughest upcoming part of the schedule without an All American, and the most promising Freshman.

Tough blow, so how does the rotation go now? Baker at the 1 and Brown starting at the 2? with Taylor and Simon backing up the 1 and 2?

If they can go 2-1 in this tourney without Shamet and FVV I'd say that's a pretty good showing

Brown hasn't been great so far this year. Hasn't shown yet that he could keep a '2' in front of him on defense. But your guess isn't a bad one. I guess we'll all find out on Thursday. It was obvious on Saturday, against a D2 team, that Marshall had WSU in "get ready to play without Fred" mode, and was doing more coaching than he has in 2 years. Add the loss of Shamet to that, and things get even more interesting. Starting to look more and more like 2012-2013 in Shockerland. Hopefully it ends similarly.
