Let's be honest the MVC is shaping up to be a one bid league this year.

The only ways I see we can avoid that is if UNI could get at least one win at Xavier or at UNC which are both Top 10 teams, then we might have a chance. Shockers OOC SOS isn't great so they probably need wins against Oklahoma and maybe Louisville.

Am I missing any?

WSU has a schedule that could allow for an at-large bid. Don't know if the team will be able to capitalize early enough in the season with all the new faces.

Not great? I'd say it's more than adequate. And it's a schedule that gives them a better shot at an at-large than UNI, which would rely on winning on the road at Xavier or North Carolina.

Far too early to say, I would put money on one bid.

No one knows for sure what will happen prior to the season. It's dangerous to predict because you have to win and your opponents have to win also.

However, the Battle for Atlantis Tourney has a lot of upside (preseason) for a very good WSU OCC schedule. There are 2 Top 20 Teams (Louisville and MSU), 3 more Top 40 Teams (OU, WSU, and VCU), and 2 more Top 75 Teams (Baylor, and LBSU).

Other teams who play decent (conference and OCC) schedules on the WSU schedule are OSU (Top 75), Old Dominion, CSU, Tulsa, and LSU.

WSU still has to win but an at large berth (judging from the OCC schedule) is certainly a good possibility.

Seems to me a lot of folks thought the MVC would be a one bid league last year, but got 2 thanks to WSU stumbling as usual in the conference tournament. (Someday, we shall appease Saint Louis for whatever we did to cause offense). Unlike those who have stated that the MVC is worse this year than last, I think it should be better due to the bottom and middle rising, though possibly not quite as good at the top, but that too seems like it might be too negative an assessment, at least by March.
Given the great games NIU and WSU gave in last years dance, perhaps the MVC stands a better chance than usual to get more than one bid, though two seems the probable limit. Also, the scheduling of the top tier MVC teams continues to be good and a more positive factor for getting an additional bid than in years past.
Might not be a bad bet for MVC to get 2 bids again this year, especially given WSU's St. Lou tendency. Still, I know if the powers that be continue to think the Somewhat Large 12 minus 2 and the Packed 12 merit a stupid number of bids, there just wont be much room left for the likes of MVC, Atlantic 10 type conferences.

The media will continue to mark the MVC as a one bid league until a 2nd team emerges as a consistent Top 25 type team. We all know WSU will flop in St. Louis opening the door for a 2nd bid, but that's too much speculation from the media's viewpoint.

After all is said and done WSU has an OOC SOS of 205.
