Dequon is unbelievable when the game is on the line. I'm not sure I can remember any MVC player hitting so many big shots in a season. But wufan is right he doesn't shoot it very well on the season at all. And he is getting better but still turns the ball over too much.

This is his 1st year of D1. I expect he will keep getting better and be a real load next year.

It's close but I would vote for McDuffie.

Doesn't the league usually defer the newcomer award if they win freshman award?

So McDuffie wins foy, the league will usually go a new direction on noy...

This is not necessarily the case. In most seasons the best transfer is better than the best freshman and they split the awards. I believe Doug McD won both awards as a recent example. I do not expect McDuffie to win NCOY. He only plays 18 mpg and it's off the bench. I think Miller will out earn him in votes. SIU has two good transfers at the guard spot and Drake has two that are stat stuffers too.

Not sure the caps is warranted. He is averaging around 10 a game while shooting 50% from the field, 41% from three, and 89% from the line. So if he ups that scoring average a bit he will have a very legitimate chance to win it.
