I vote McDuffie

Edit: I was thinking about just freshmen for whatever reason but I'd think I'd go with Miller too. 2 game winning shots in conference has made him pretty valuable.

There was a thread on this in the pre-season. I think I picked Barnyard. The PG at MSU is pretty damn good.

DeQuon Miller from Missouri State is making a strong case. Leads the team at 12.3 ppg. Takes a ton of shots with a low shooting percentage but tends to put up some really big numbers from time to time. Was held scoreless (or close to it) against Bradley and then carried the Bears to victory against Drake. Has won Newcomer of Week several times already.

I would go with McDuffie. Miller deserves some consideration BUT as someone that has seen him play most every game he is maddeningly inconsistent. He's won several (3) games for us. But he's also shot us out of a few. He's one of the most confident players I've ever seen. If he gets more consistent with his jumper the sky's the limit.

If the Aces had a player like McDuffie, I wonder just how good would they be. He's the best I have seen.

If the Aces had McDuffie, he'd play 6 minutes per game behind Simmons and Wing. ;)

How can this one not be Daquon Miller at this point?

I like Miller and there is an argument for him to win, however you asked why not Miller:

He has a 1:1 A:TO ratio as a PG.
He shoots 34% from the field and 30% from 3.
He's not the leading scorer amongst newcomers.
Markis McDuffie is better.

It's always the bad 3 point shooters that somehow go off against the Redbirds, it's not fair
